No Accounting for Cowboys by Leah Braemel - Release Day Review

Series: The Grady Legacy (#2)
Author: Leah Braemel
Release Day:  May 19, 2014
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Jake Grady loves Bull's Hollow ranch and all the challenges and hard work it entails. But the past year hasn't been easy—his father's good name has been tarnished, and new financial problems are threatening to destroy everything the Gradys have built. Performing live under a stage name has become his escape, a way of blowing off some serious steam.

Accountant Paige Reynolds found Jake's guitar-playing alter ego intriguing, but her connection with the real Jake sends her attraction into overdrive. When she's summoned to make order out of the chaotic paper trail at Bull's Hollow, he sets her world a-rocking—both in bed and out. But Paige has a plan; she's determined to create her own path for the future, but is soon left scrambling for firmer ground.

Good news about Jake's potential singing career is followed by the revelation of another family secret, one that has him questioning whether he belongs at Bull's Hollow at all. But leaving the ranch would mean leaving his family…and Paige. How much is he willing to give up for a real shot at fame?

Leah is the only woman in a houseful of males that includes her college-sweetheart husband, two sons, a Shih Tzu named Seamus and Turtle the cat. She loves escaping the ever-multiplying dust bunnies by opening up her laptop to write about sexy heroes and the women who challenge them.
Reviewers have awarded Leah's books numerous Top Pick and Recommended Reads designations as well as nominated them as Best Contemporary Romance, Best Erotic Romance and Best Ménage à Trois or More. Leah has also been nominated as Favorite Author and Best Erotic Romance Author.

I was given an advanced reader copy by the author in exchange for an honest review.

I've read several of Leah Braemel's books and after reading Slow Ride I was waiting anxiously for No Accounting for Cowboys, the second in the The Grady Legacy.

Even though I couldn't relate to either Jake or Paige I loved this story and loved the characters. I'm a conservative dressing, vegetarian pianist from Boston. So it's nothing against Leah's writing to say that I can't relate to a country music singing cowboy and a pierced biker-girl.

But I did love both Jake and Paige. From the moment the two met there was chemistry. They fell instantly in lust which turned into something a lot stronger.

After reading Slow Ride I wanted to know more about the Gradys. I loved Ben and wanted to know more about Jake. I don't want to reveal any spoilers, but in No Accounting for Cowboys Jake's whole world is shaken up. He's a strong man, but he has to deal with things he's never dealt with before or even thought before.

Paige is there for him every step of the way. You wouldn't think these two characters would work together, but they're perfect for each other. Paige's childhood was rough and all she wants is love. Jake gives her that and she gives him everything. They both are strong in their own ways and they each lend each other their strength.

I loved this book and can't wait for the next in the series.
