Beckett Murda hates to dwell on the past. But his investigation into the ambush that killed half his Special Forces team and ended his Army career gives him little choice. Just when his team learns how powerful their enemies are, hard-ass Beckett encounters his biggest complication yet—a seductive, feisty Katherine Rixey.

A tough, stubborn prosecutor, Kat visits her brothers’ Hard Ink Tattoo shop following a bad break-up—and finds herself staring down the barrel of a stranger’s gun. Beckett is hard-bodied and sexy as hell, but he’s also the most infuriating man ever. Worse, Kat’s brothers are at war with the criminals her office is investigating. When Kat joins the fight, she lands straight in Beckett’s sights . . . and in his arms. Not to mention their enemies’ crosshairs.

Now Beckett and Kat must set aside their differences to work together, because the only thing sweeter than justice is finding love and never letting go.

When Beckett finally withdrew from her, Kat missed him everywhere. His heat. His hold. His body inside hers. But he gently turned her, then grabbed some napkins from the supplies. Kat cleaned herself up and they quietly reassembled themselves. All the while, she hoped like hell that things wouldn’t go from awesome to weird as they had before.
Expression serious, Beckett took her hands in his.
And Kat’s heart fell to the floor. Here it comes again. She could already hear him saying that this was a mistake—
“I don’t want to hide us anymore,” he said.
Wait. What? “You … what?” His words were so unexpected, she half felt like she’d just walked, cartoonlike, into a pole she hadn’t known was there.
“I don’t know what we might be, Kat, but I know what I want us not to be. I don’t want us to be some dirty little secret. And I don’t want us to pretend around everyone else that we don’t care. And I don’t want us to just be quickies in a sniper’s roost.” Those bright blue eyes absolutely blazed at her.
Kat’s head spun. Not because she didn’t like the sound of what he was saying, but because she was gobsmacked that he was the one saying it. Mostly, she’d contented herself with thinking quickies in a sniper’s roost were all they’d ever be, no matter how much her heart found deeper, sweeter things to like about the man.
“I won’t say anything if you don’t want me to, though,” he said, brow furrowing and shoulders sagging. Just the littlest bit.
But it was enough to make her realize she hadn’t responded adequately, or, like, at all. “No, no. I’m sorry. I’m just surprised. But I’d like not hiding, too. At first, well, I wasn’t sure …” She shrugged. “But there’s clearly something here, Beckett. And I’d like to know what it might be without feeling like we’re doing something wrong.”
“Exactly,” he said, hope filling his eyes. And God if that didn’t make them even prettier.
She smiled as butterflies whipped through her belly. Kinda ridiculous, given that she was a twenty-nine-year-old woman, but the feeling was there all the same. “So, uh, what were you thinking? And, oh, by the way, I’m pretty sure Jeremy might’ve guessed something’s going on already.”
“Yeah, I caught that. Marz, too, by the way.”
            “Damn, they’re good.” Kat chuckled.
            “Or just giant busybodies.”
Grinning, Kat nodded. “They could be that, too.”
Beckett cupped his big hand around Kat’s face. “The first thing I’d like to do is talk to your brother.” Kat couldn’t hold back the groan that spilled out of her, and it made Beckett chuckle. “Trust me, I’m not looking forward to that conversation either. But Nick’s one of my best friends and my teammate. If he doesn’t hear it from me, he’s gonna be pissed. Or more pissed, as the case may be.”

This was the perfect ending to a perfect series.  I've read each of the Hark Ink books and really hoped that the series would wrap up nicely.  It exceeded my expectations.  If you've read the rest of the books you'll know the basic plot and I can tell you that everything gets resolved nicely and happily.  I won't say how until you read the book, but Happily Ever After comes to all.

After learning all about Becket's teammates it was nice to finally know his story.  While his story isn't as harsh as some of the others he still has his issues and he is sexy.

Kat is the sister of Nick and Jeremy. Both are protective of her, and Nick is extremely so.  She's his baby sister and he needs control.  Protecting her gives him control.

From the first time Kat appeared in the Hard Ink Series there was tension between her and Becket.  Obviously we all know now that when there's tension there are usually sparks.  The two don't have a history together, but they're chemistry draws them together from day one.

Hard to Let Go is their story.  When finally alone neither can control the sparks and they both jump each other.  It's instant, uncontrollable lust.  Neither is looking for a relationship.  Kat is just getting out of a somewhat abusive relationship and Becket has some issues from his past that he's dealing with.  But the attraction the two feel is one that can't be ignored.

The two try to hide their relationship, but eventually it gets out.

I loved these characters, as I've loved all of the characters in this series.  Even though I can't always relate to some of their issues/problems, Laura Kaye writes these books and characters in a way that makes everyone feel for them and immerse themselves in the story.  She's a great writer.

I give Hard to Let Go FIVE STARS!!!!
