The Doms of Genesis Series by Jenna Jacob - #BLOGTOUR #BOOKREVIEW @JennaJacob3 @OnceUponAnAlpha

Embracing My Submission
(The Doms of Genesis Book 1)
Haunted for years by dreams of a savage, amber eyed Dominant with lips so enticing my soul ached in frustration and lust. None of the Dominants at Genesis, my local BDSM club ever stirred me in such blistering ways. While I tried to fill my submissive desires vicariously through interactions at the club, I attempted to convince myself it was enough. But it wasn’t. My dream Dom made certain I hungered for more.

Forced beyond what I could bear, my passion and frustration exploded. I threw in the towel, determined to stop chasing a dream and gave up completely on finding submissive surrender. But fate intervened when two gunshots split the night. Forced to confront my desires and insecurities, I was shocked to realize that my dreams may have held a deeper meaning. Were they compelling me to finally embrace my submission?

This book was the start of the Doms of Genesis series.  Overall I like the story of Emerald (Julianna) and Mika.  There is definite potential and it made me want to read more in the series.   I did find this book to be a little on the long side, but I can see why Jenna Jacob did that.   In addition to learning about the main characters in this book we learn about several other characters who later appear as main characters in their own book.

Emerald is uncollared and really craves a Dom.  She has a protector, but he is gay and in a committed relationship.  Emerald has a bad experience with a want-to-be Dom and Mika is one of those who comes to her rescue.  Mika has his reasons (I won't give any spoilers) why he doesn't want a relationship.  When he finally overcomes them he reveals that he's not looking to be a Dom.  He is a Master and is looking for a slave.

There is a lot of back and forth between Emerald and Mika.  They're both scared and they both run at different times.  Some of this could probably have been eliminated or cut from the book, as it was kind of long, but when they did come together the scenes are HOT.

I liked Jenna Jacobs writing style and was anxious to read the next books in the series.  I give Embracing my Submission 3.5 Stars!

Masters of My Desire
(The Doms of Genesis Book 2)
Plowing into Bambi and totaling my SUV wasn't the way I envisioned starting my vacation. Then again, neither was being rescued by two gorgeous men. Nick Masters and Dylan Thomas swooped in to save me from the wreck. They weren't just knights in a shining truck, but Dominants so potent the submissive hidden inside me clawed to kneel at their feet.

To my surprise, they offered to teach me the joys of submission. I shoved down my fears and agreed to spend one glorious week of pleasure under their hand, at the center of their raw passion. With each command and touch, they bared my soul and stole my heart. With them, I felt like a beautiful—if kinky—Cinderella. But all too soon, the clock struck midnight, and I fled…
Returning to my lackluster life, I was determined to somehow survive without the masters of my desire. I never imagined they would travel a few hundred miles to hunt me down. Could I say yes when they offered to bestow something on me far more beautiful than a glass slipper?

I really liked Masters of My Desire.  Savannah is rescued from a car wreck by Dylan and Nick.  She's read a lot of BDSM and right away recognizes them as Doms.  They, too, right away see her submissison.  Even though Savannah has never practiced BDSM both Doms recognize a submissive when they see her.
Both men are SEXY and Dominant.  Nick is Native American and Dylan blond and blue-eyed.   Jenna wrote them perfectly and I can see any girl/woman/female (or male) falling for them.

While I've read a lot of menages where the relationship was three way, in this story there is no sexual relationship between the two men.  They both focus entirely on Savannah.  Imagine?  Two sexy men for one woman.
Nick and Dylan are best friends and have Dommed women together for years, but they've never found the right girl to collar.  All three have some issues with commitment (for different reasons), but you can see that they are meant to be together.
I give this book 4 stars!

Master of My Mind
(The Doms of Genesis Book 3)
The Biggest Club Genesis Book Yet!

After the shocking death of my Master left me stunned, the revenge his ex-wife and daughter sought was almost as devastating. Seeking refuge at Club Genesis, my one safe haven, I returned to heal and get back on my own two feet.
But I soon learned that fate had other plans for Leagh Bennett.

Tony Delvaggio, the panty-melting sadist and resident shrink of Genesis, took me under his wing. Both frightened by his intensity and secretly thrilled by his unwavering attention, I tried to hide my past and barricade my soul from him. But Tony coaxed my thoughts with his deep voice and seduced my body with his rough hands. Before long, he pried open my heart as well. But when it became clear that someone meant to kill me, I came to a terrifying conclusion: I would have to put my complete trust and submission in the Master of my mind or die…

Of the four books in The Doms of Genesis Series that I read this one was probably my favorite.  It wasn't the sexiest book, but it was so emotional.  Be prepared for tears.  Leagh was broken by her Master's death.  He was much older than her, but she was devoted to him.  We met Leagh and George in the first two books, and I had no idea that George wouldn't be around for the rest of the series.  I, like Leagh, assumed he'd be there.

After George's death, Leagh's life is thrown into chaos.  In addition to being her Dom and lover, George had protected Leagh from her past.  After his death, the one constant, who is always there for her, is Tony.  Tony is perfect for Leagh.  He's a psychologist so he knows how to deal with loss.  And he's always been in love with Leagh.

It takes a while for Leagh to realize how wonderful Tony is and to trust him.  She has a fear that the past will catch up with her and she feels guilt and all the other reactions you'd expect after losing someone.  She's also not sure she can be submissive enough for Tony and Tony is a sadist. She's not a masochist.  They learn to work with each other and end up with one of the strongest relationships ever.

I give Master of My Mind 4.5 Stars!

Saving My Submission
(The Doms of Genesis Book 4)
I never intended Joshua Lars, the sexy-as-sin sculptor to be more than a one-night stand. How was I to know his masterful hands and dominant command would wake the sleeping submissive within me?

Any of my friends would have said that Mellie Carson was an independent, successful woman who would never kneel for a man. I’d already chalked my one foray into surrendering my control up to na├»ve stupidity. I was far too smart now to do it again—or so I thought.

Then came Joshua… Determined to resist his powerful draw, I tried to forget him, but Fate—and a killer—had other plans. Now, in Joshua’s arms, I might be safe, but I fear my heart isn’t.

Can he save my life while saving my submission?

Mellie is the older sister of Savannah (from Masters of My Desire).  Both lost their parents at a young age.  Mellie then took care of Savannah.  Because of the loss of her parents and a bad BDSM experience years ago in another city (no spoilers) Mellie tends to shy away from relationships and submission.  It has been years since she's practiced BDSM, but she secretly craves submission.

Joshua had lost his wife and daughter, but he seems very put together.  He does however lead two lives.  I won't give any spoilers, but Joshua is a Dom in Genesis.  He goes by a different name and we meet him in the first book in the series.

Joshua had been out of the public eye for years.  He was having his first public showing at a gallery and Mellie meets him there.  Joshua finds Mellie crying over a statue of a sub.  Right away he knows that she is a sub.  Joshua and Mellie have an explosive night together (very steamy).  Then a few days later Mellie sees Joshua at a Genesis wedding.  Joshua hadn't said anything, but he knew who Mellie was and wasn't going to settle for a one-night stand.

I liked Joshua and Mellie a lot.  While they weren't the most developed characters in this series they were both very likeable and fun to read.

I give Saving My Submission 4 stars!

Overall Thoughts - I think that Jenna Jacob has a great series going and I recommend it to all who love lighter BDSM.  I can't wait to read the next books in this series!
