Gerald Wright works for billionaires. He never imagined he'd become one.
The former Navy Seal is a chauffeur by day, artist by night, so when hotter-than-ever ex-fiancée Suzanne Dayton interrupts his nude model sculpting class to serve him with inheritance paperwork from a man he's never heard of, he assumes it's a joke.
Turns out the joke's on him. There's just one catch. A big one.
And it might be Suzanne -- in more ways than he ever dreamed.
Shopping for an Heir is the 10th book in the New York Times bestselling Shopping for a Billionaire series by Julia Kent. It features many favorite characters from the Shopping series, including Declan McCormick himself as Gerald's class model ;)

This is the first book I've read in the Shopping Series. Shopping for an Heir can be read as a standalone, but if I had read the other books I would have known more about the back stories. I can say even without reading the other books that I definitely appreciated Declan McCormick. I will have to go back to read his story and the other stories.
Shopping for an Heir is the story of Gerald and Suzanne. 10 years ago or so Gerald and Suzanne had been in a relationship and had even gotten engaged. They were both in the military and deployed together. Then suddenly when Gerald's tour was over he left and never contacted Suzanne again. This story takes place 10 years later when both find themselves in Boston. Gerald is employed by the McCormick's as a chauffeur/bodyguard. Suzanne is their attorney. But the two meet when Gerald is named as beneficiary for a rare artifact. Suzanne's firm represents the original owner and she is instructed to deal with Gerald's inheritance.
From the first moment Suzanne has to deliver the inheritance paperwork to Gerald you can tell that there is unfinished business between the two. The sparks fly. Although Suzanne tries to deny it she can't resist and the two end up together. I found both Gerald and Suzanne to be nicely developed characters and I empathized with both. Gerald had his reasons and we find them out. Suzanne is forgiving, but not a pushover. They were both real.
I liked Shopping for an Heir and wish I had read more of the other books first. I give Shopping for an Heir FOUR STARS!
