Hard to Be Good - Cover
Title: Hard to Be Good
Series: Hard Ink
Author: Laura Kaye
Release Date: April 14, 2015

Hard Ink Tattoo owner Jeremy Rixey has taken on his brother’s stateside fight against the forces that nearly killed Nick and his Special Forces team a year before. Now, Jeremy’s whole world has been turned upside down—not the least of which by a brilliant, quiet blond man who tempts Jeremy to settle down for the first time ever.

Recent kidnapping victim Charlie Merritt has always been better with computers than people, so when he’s drawn into the SF team’s investigation of his army colonel father’s corruption, he’s surprised to find acceptance and friendship—especially since his father never accepted who Charlie was. Even more surprising is the heated tension Charlie feels with sexy, tattooed Jeremy, Charlie’s opposite in almost every way.

With tragedy and chaos all around them, temptation flashes hot, and Jeremy and Charlie can’t help but wonder why they’re trying so hard to be good...

Shirtless muscular attractive young man model wearing sweatpants

“You should be inside celebrating,” Jeremy said, his voice a raw scrape. “You and Marz did an amazing thing this morning.” An hour ago, Marz and Charlie had cracked open a heavily encrypted microchip that contained a wealth of information that not only seemed likely to help the team clear its name, but proved that Charlie’s father hadn’t been dirty, like they’d all thought. “And I’m so happy for you about your dad.”
A wounded darkness passed through Charlie’s gaze, but he finally nodded. “Didn’t feel right without you there.” Pink filtered into his cheeks, and damn if that wasn’t as cute as it was sexy. Jeremy wasn’t sure anything had ever made him blush.
“I’m just not—” Jeremy shrugged and looked down at Charlie’s chest again. Having seen the guy dress more than once, he knew that shirt covered lean muscle that ran from strong shoulders down to his narrow hips. Jeremy fisted his hands against the urge to burrow them under the hem of the tee. After weeks of looking, and wanting, he was dying to touch. Jeremy found Charlie hard to read though, and hadn’t wanted to do anything to scare him off. “—very good company right now. I’m sorry if that—”
Charlie nudged Jeremy’s chin up with his hand, his fingers just barely touching Jer’s stubble-covered skin. But then his thumb landed softly against his lips.
Jeremy’s heartbeat kicked up and his lips fell open. Slowly, oh so tentatively, Charlie stroked the soft pad of his thumb back and forth across them.
“Charlie,” Jeremy whispered as arousal surged through his body, spiking his pulse, tensing his muscles, hardening his dick.
Uncertainty poured off Charlie as the man’s hand trembled where it touched him, but those blue eyes absolutely blazed desire. No way was Jeremy imagining that.
“You’re always good company, to me,” Charlie said in a low voice, his gaze dropping to Jeremy’s lips. Charlie leaned in closer, and closer still, and Jeremy could hardly believe the other man was the one to initiate this. But he was fucking thrilled.
Jeremy swallowed, his lips anticipating that first soft brush. Charlie was so close his shaky breath caressed Jeremy’s lips. His pace was maddening but so damn sexy Jer could barely breathe. And then Charlie’s eyelids fluttered closed and he was right there…

HARD TO BE GOOD by Laura Kaye - #BLOGTOUR, #BOOKREVIEW, #GIVEAWAY, @LauraKayeAuthor @InkSlingerPR

Title: Hard to Be Good
Series: Hard Ink #3.5
Author: Laura Kaye
 Release Date: April 14, 2015

Hard Ink Tattoo owner Jeremy Rixey has taken on his brother’s stateside fight against the forces that nearly killed Nick and his Special Forces team a year before. Now, Jeremy’s whole world has been turned upside down—not the least of which by a brilliant, quiet blond man who tempts Jeremy to settle down for the first time ever.

I've read all of the books in The Hard Ink Series (in fact, I've read all of Laura Kaye's books).  I think that Hard to Be Good is the sweetest book of all.  Anyone who has read this series knows all about both Jeremy and Charlie.  I was waiting for Jeremy to get his own book.  He's been a big part of the Hard Ink crew since the beginning.  Even though he is not ex-military he is still a big part of the action in each of the previous books.  Charlie is also there from the beginning.

Hard to Be Good is their story.  Jeremy seems like nothing can get to him.  He's extremely tattooed, has piercings, and seems to have it all together. His clothing choices are often crude.   If you saw him on the street good girls and boys would probably stay away.  He's the kind of person a mother tells her child to stay away from.   But this would be so wrong.  As I said above that this was the sweetest story yet in this series, Jeremy is one of the sweetest characters ever.

Without giving away the prior books (if you haven't read them, start now - you need to!!!) let me say that Charlie is hurt.  He's physically hurt and mentally hurt.  He is openly gay, but his father never accepted him.  So he is very shy and cautious.  He, too, is very sweet.

Jeremy and Charlie have been thrust together in this situation and they've formed a close bond.  They're surrounded by ex-military, straight men, and their girlfriends.  Charlie is gay and Jeremy is bi-sexual.  While Jeremy is accepted by his family, he, too, has experienced prejudice.  So, even though he seems confident, he's not.

When Jeremy and Charlie finally do express their feelings and desires they are both afraid.  But once they start they can't hold back.  They're very physical, strong, and sexy.

I love Charlie and especially love Jeremy and I loved reading this book.  It's a novella so it's shorter than some of the others, but it's well worth it.  I give Hard to Be Good FOUR stars!

SAY MY NAME by J. Kenner - #BOOKREVIEW @JulieKenner #FIVESTARS

Title:  Say My Name
Series: Stark International #1
Author: J. Kenner
Release Date: April 7, 2015

New York Times bestselling author J. Kenner kicks off a smoking hot, emotionally compelling new trilogy that returns to the world of her beloved Stark novels: Release Me, Claim Me, and Complete MeSay My Namefeatures Jackson Steele, a strong-willed man who goes after what he wants, and Sylvia Brooks, a disciplined woman who’s hard to get—and exactly who Jackson needs.

I never let anyone get too close—but he’s the only man who’s ever made me feel alive.

Meeting Jackson Steele was a shock to my senses. Confident and commanding, he could take charge of any room . . . or any woman. And Jackson wanted me. The mere sight of him took my breath away, and his touch made me break all my rules.

Our bond was immediate, our passion untamed. I wanted to surrender completely to his kiss, but I couldn’t risk his knowing the truth about my past. Yet Jackson carried secrets too, and in our desire we found our escape, pushing our boundaries as far as they could go.

Learning to trust is never easy. In my mind, I knew I should run. But in my heart, I never felt a fire this strong—and it could either save me or scorch me forever.

Say My Name is intended for mature audiences.

While I've loved all of J. Kenner's books I'm always a little bit afraid that the next book in the series or saga will be overkill. I am thrilled to be wrong. J. Kenner once again proves that even though some of the characters might be the same, the book is brand new and exciting. I loved Jackson and Sylvia. I loved their history and their present.

Jackson is a typical J. Kenner male. He's all alpha male - commanding, dominant, confident, and HOTTTT!!! But he's not Damien Stark. He's definitely his own character. He can hold his own against Damien (and he does). He has secrets that get revealed at the end.

Sylvia is Damien's assistant. But she wasn't always. She has a history, and a history with Jackson. She also has secrets and trust issues. But when she relinquishes control to Jackson she frees herself.

I can not wait to see what happens in the next books in this series. This is probably one of my top books of the year. Loved it and give it FIVE Stars!

TAMED by Stacey Kennedy - #BLOGTOUR, #BOOKREVIEW #GIVEAWAY @Stacey_Kennedy @TastyBookTours

Title: Tamed
Series: Club Sin # 5
Author: Stacey Kennedy
Release Date:  March 10, 2015
Publisher: Loveswept

USA Today bestselling author Stacey Kennedy returns to the tantalizing world of Club Sin in an enticing novel of control and surrender.

Porter Marshall has nearly achieved his goal of becoming a Club Sin Master, but his new sub poses a much bigger challenge than he anticipated. Despite their mutual attraction and red-hot dungeon sessions, Kenzie Hart plays her own games. Her bratty, you-can’t-break-me attitude masks terrible personal hurt—pain that only the exquisite touch of a skilled Dom can release. But when Porter suggests taking their connection to the outside world, Kenzie denies him . . . which only makes him want her more.

Kenzie can’t ignore the raw, fierce bond she has with Porter. But she can’t give in to his dangerous demands, either. Is the passion they share real, or is he using her to solidify his status at Club Sin? And yet, who else can she trust with the shattering secrets she holds within? As Porter expertly brings her to the point of no return, Kenzie surrenders her body—and, piece by piece, her heart.

Tamed is an erotic romance intended for mature audiences.

Four weeks. Twenty-eight days. Six hundred and seventy-two hours.

That’s how long Porter had to get inside Kenzie’s mind and soul. Personally, he had always liked her, even when he had known her from Chains back in the day. Her fun personality was infectious, and she never seemed to take life too seriously.

Though he also remembered Kenzie when she was younger, in her early twenties, he never had any interest in playing with her before now. He’d been in a relationship back then and hadn’t looked to other submissives for play. Her behavior was bratty even back then, which he had no interest in dealing with when he was younger. He had preferred well-behaved submissives. Now, Porter’s being thirty-five, his cock twitched to play with this submissive, eager to show her who’s in charge.

The question remained heavy on his mind: Had he excelled in the dynamics of Dominance and submission enough to gain the compliance of the sassiest submissive? Perhaps it was his manhood talking, but he quite liked the idea of going up against the strongest sub he’d ever known. It made the moment a little more playful, and definitely more exciting.

Even so, after one conversation with her, he’d assumed breaking down the walls she kept up against others wouldn’t be an easy task. Kenzie’s game was to throw everyone else off theirs, and she was a pro—which compelled him to understand why. To find out what made her act the way she did. More important, to be the one Dom whom she couldn’t throw off.

Staring into her pretty light hazel eyes that were more green than brown, he didn’t know why she made life difficult for Doms; he guessed it was just her nature. When he had seen her play with others, she was a submissive, of that he was sure. Yet at times the things she said and did would make one believe she’d be better off as a Dominatrix or a switch.

While he wanted to explore earning her submission, he also reminded himself that Club Sin members needed to witness his skill as a Dom. The task of showing Dmitri, the Club Sin Masters, and the other members that he deserved the title of Club Sin Master was hanging over him.

He’d known all the Club Sin Masters since they entered the lifestyle around the same time and were playing at Chains. Porter had as much experience as Dmitri, and being on uneven ground with them in Club Sin wasn’t a position he preferred.

Recognition. Respect. Pride. They mattered to him.

I' discovered Stacey Kennedy soon after I discovered erotic romances.  I've read all of her Club Sin books and most of her other books too.  This is the first time I was offered a chance to review one of her books and I am thrilled.  I read quite a few BDSM romances and Stacey Kennedy's Club Sin  books are among my favorites.  I feel like you really get to know her characters.  They stay with you.
Tamed is the story of the Club Sin brat, Kenzie.  In order to achieve the status of Club Sin Master, Porter agrees to take Kenzie on as his sub for a month.  None of the other Doms have ever really been able to break through Kenzie's walls.  She has her reasons for acting out and Porter is the only one to see through the act.

I love Porter and Kenzie, both alone, and together.  He is a typical alpha male - all strong and dominant (he is a Dom after all), but he is also very caring.  He demands and commands obedience.  From the very beginning we can see that when Porter actually does break through with Kenzie, that they will have a powerful bond.  She doesn't give her trust to just anyone, and when she does, can she only do it for a month?  I'll let you figure that one out when you read the book.

Anyone looking for a great BDSM series and a great book should pick up this book.  I loved Tamed and give it FIVE STARS!!!!

Stacey Kennedy is the USA Today bestselling author of the Club Sin series. Growing up, Stacey’s mind wandered the path less traveled, and that path most often led to love. She has always broken rules and she continues to feed off emotion—always staying true to her heart. Those traits are now the bones of her stories.
She lives in southwestern Ontario with her husband, who puts any of the heroes in her books to shame, and their two young children. If she’s not on Mom duty or plugging away at a new story, you’ll find Stacey camping in the summer, hibernating in the winter, and obsessing over Penny Dreadful, Game of Thrones, and Sons of Anarchy.
