I've read all kinds of books by Claire Thompson and I never know quite what to expect, other than that I'll like them. Secrets is a lot tamer than some of Claire's books, but the relationship between the main characters is no less intense.
Secrets is the story of Liam and Allie. Liam and Allie "meet" online through a BDSM dating site. This site is not your typical Fetlife BDSM site. Immediately Liam and Allie connect, but they live on opposite sides of the country. Both have secrets. For Liam the distance helps him. He's afraid that Allie will reject him, as his last girlfriend did, because of his limp and scar tissue. Allie has her own secrets, but she bravely defies Liam's wishes and gets on a plane to meet him. He is thrilled.
Liam is a caring Dom, but he pushes Allie. Allie is a big masochist. She's never been pushed as far as she wants and Liam knows just how to push her to where she needs to be. It's perfect. Eventually the secrets of both unfold and the two work through them.
I loved the main characters, the supporting characters, the story, and I think I'll love the series. I give Secrets FIVE STARS!
